The Staff Advisory Committee to the Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences makes ours one of the few Penn State colleges with an active, issues-oriented group that helps staff members discuss issues openly with the dean. Robert Steele, dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, has demonstrated his commitment to staff concerns by meeting quarterly with the staff advisory committee and by meeting twice a year with the entire college staff.
The Staff Advisory Committee to the Dean was established in May 1997 by interim dean Ted Alter. Since then, other colleges have looked to the Staff Advisory Committee to the Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences as a model.
